Restaurant sector bucks the trend in Q2 with a rise in consumer spending

There has been marked growth in the restaurant industry in Britain despite a decrease in spending in leisure, home goods and in the hotel industry. This data was compiled using the spending patterns of Visa cards and spending patterns used in the country. Lowered spending has been attributed to the upcoming Brexit, the recent election results and overall concern about the economy. The lack of job growth and higher living costs have also reduced the amount of disposable income. People have reduced their spending but the restaurant industry has remained resilient.
